Making a mailinglist in PHP - question on HTML in emails..

Ok, strictly speaking this isnt very PHP related. Im making a mailinglist, and im thinking of having it send the newsletter in html instead of just plain text. But are there any types of email that dont accept HTML anymore? i dont want half the recipients not being able to read it. and also, is there a way of perhaps supplying both types of email and the plaintext one is shown if HTML cant be displayed?
