Howdy!

I am sure glad I found this site! I am as confused as a baby in a topless bar! 😕 😃

I am very new to PHP. So far the only thing I have mastered is HTML.

I have a whole bunch of questions.

1. I have phpnuke. It was installed by the webhost. I want to make some changes (add templates, style sheets, images...etc) I can't find the folders for the portall.

2. I also have gallery from surge forge. How can I intergrate it into the nuke?

3. Speaking of gallery I uploaded it to the server and this is what I get:

   It is on a FreeBSD server. the OS Apache 1.3

Ok first things first

I thought PHP Nuke came with a Gallery If not im sure theres a mod/hack to it. Check there site.

Secondly

version.php either doesnt exist or wasnt chmod 777

To do this. Find the file version.php right click in your FTP of course.

Look for permissions or chmod

Change the permissions to 777 this is so it can be written to and read from.

Also check what function is being used to access the file. check with your host or write a phpinfo file to see what functions are not allowed to be used. It may also be a reason.

Thirdly..

Ive never used the PHPNuke Portal.. but i think theres a folder called templates. If there is thats where templates go..

Otherwise go back to there site and read the FAQ. or post something in there forum.

Sorry if this isnt what you were after but i have never used PHPNuke and being honest i dont suggest newbies to use it unless they are going to learn from the syntax.

I run it and it's a no-brainer. They maintain some awesome FAQ's there for any questions.

I haven't run PHP-Nuke in ages, but I'm pretty sure the templates are in the /themes directory.

Thanks guys. I have everything done on the gallery now but I have to wait to see if the host will shut down the "safe mode". This is the gallery everyone uses in nuke.

I have also asked them about the path to nukes files. Hopefully will receive a reply soon. As hosts go, they seem pretty good so far. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
