What is the setting in PHP that forces the use of $_GET

Yah I can't remember the setting that forces you to use the $GET and $POST functions to retreive variable values.

I think the owners of my server have just changed the setting and now none of my scripts are working because I didnt use those functions.

Also, how do I change it back? Where is the Php.ini file located and what do i change in it?

I would recommend SEARCHING, but if that failed, I would ask your admins to change it, as you cant change the ini file youself if you arent the box admin, you could maybe toggle the value in EVERY script you write however...

It's register_globals. You probably won't be allowed to change php.ini, but it might be possible to use httpd.conf to set it for each directory. (How? It's in the manual. Hint: somewhere under [man]configuration[/man]).

Really, though, you have only your own laziness to blame for your scripts not working anymore: $GET and $POST have been available since December 2001, and register_globals has been off by default since April last year. After all the posts on the subject here you can hardly say you weren't warned.
