We send html email with <a href= ...> tags and the href's can have a fairly long uri, eg,
<a href='www.domain.com/my.php?sid=123456789011272727272727272727272727272727273737364363737'&pid=98797658589'>Click Here</a>
This works most of the time. When people click through we check to make sure what they are accessing exists based on the variables in the uri. Occassionally, the uri is messed up, and we throw and error. If you look in the HTML it's sometimes mangeled, but sometimes not.
I know hotmail processes uri's and if you click on an html link it is processed by a cgi, but still, the uri's aren't that complicated.
We constrain the width of our emails to abou 80 characters per line but of course some of our href's are longer than that.
Has anyone seen this sort of behavior and have any ideas what might be going on?
thanks,
ron
