Haven't had MySQL crash on me yet (running about 20 MySQL servers on both W2K and WXP) - any ideas why it is crashing? Is it due to load or db size? Have you tried any administrative cleanup (optimize, check etc).
A possible solution to recover from a service crash is to configure it's "recovery" behaviour in the service property (under Control-Panel/Administrative-Tools/Services/MySQL/Properties/Recovery).
There are options for First, Second and Subsequent Failures and possible behaviours are:
- Take No Action (Default)
- Restart Service
- Run a Program
- Restart Computer
Hope it helps
