Anti-anti-hotlinking procedure?

I know it's ill-advised, but does PHP have a method of altering a page's notion of where it is, to circumvent hotlinking preventions? Anything would be useful (though I doubt that you, the programin', file-sharin', piratin' people that you are could stoop down to my moral level to help me).

Now that that's done with... not quite sure what exactly you mean... do you mean you want to hide the pages location from users? Not allow users to link to your pages?

I'm sorry, I'm just new here, and I'm used to having to get people off their high-horses before they will respond to anyone with comments other than "f[_]k u", or inqueries as to the status of your mother.

Anyway, I simply meant, regarding the processes used by web servers / PHP scripts to avoid hotlinking, if there was any way to trick them into thinking that the script is being run on their server, preferrably from in the directory in which the files trying to be hotlinked are held. If this is impossible, or if there is some other reason, please say so. Thank you.

I don't know, and don't do hotlinking unless it's against a large corporation. Do not use up the bandwidth of other people like you and me.

Depends on how the hotlinking is being done... it doesn't sound like you're up to much good here btw...

But, if they're just checking HTTP_REFERER and refusing requests that don't originate from their domain, you could spoof the HTTP_REFERER header by opening a socket and sending your own ( spoofed ) HTTP headers.

If you would have put forth the effort to read the FAQs around here and then to spend some time reading other threads before you started posting you would have known that this was not such a community. Next time remember an ounce or prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Sure there is. It depends on the hotlink protection they are using. You could either spoof your IP or spoof your URL neither are that difficult.
