"bolding" the first line with regexp

I'm extracting a q&a kindda string from mysql and trying to "bold" the first line of each paragraph ( in this case, the "question" string ):

Q: What's your name? ## make that bold
A: nabucodonosor, king of babylon ## leave it as is

Q: Where do you live? ## make that bold
A: Near something, somewhere ## leave it as is

...more Q&A....

is there any way to do this with regexp or should i ressort to split?

how are you getting the information how is it coming out on the page, in HTML, are you looping through a db or what

i want each q&a to be enclosed in a <p> tag, thats the easy part

<p>Welcome to this FAQ blah blah blah</p>

<p><em>Q:What is your name?</em><br/>
A: Nabucodonosor, king of Babylon</p>

etc...

the string actually looks like this:

"Welcome to this FAQ blah blah blah

Q:
A:

Q:
A:

..

thanks for visiting us"

the hard part is determining if under one line, lies another ( that would make it a QA paragraph, and thus, needs to bold the first line )...

are you using a while loop to gather the results or how are you getting them
