How would I parse each line from a textarea and then insert each value in a database?

Well, assuming you assign it all into a single variable, you'd probably have to set a cut-off... number of characters... read that many into the string and, if it's in the middle of the string, back it up character by character until you hit a space, then cut it off there and insert that... wash, rinse, and repeat for the rest of the string.
