Has anyone got an ideea about how to destroy a session, without asking the user to click on something. The problem is, even afte the users shut down the browser, the sessions are still there.
I want the sessions to be deleted from "tmp" as soon as the user closes the browser.

Its impossible to delete them as soon as they have gone. PHP cannot tell when a user has left, as it doesnt work on the client side

Javascript cant do it either.

I guess your going to have to just accept that... Unless you create a pop under when the user leaves. Although this isnt a great idea if your really deperate its the only alternative i can think of.

Why not just have the expire after a short interval (such as a day).

I use sessions for counting the number of pplz currently visiting the site. As I read on some tutorials, this is a method of doing it. If the sessions do not expirewhen the visilor leaves the site...the result is...hmmm...
