Need some help please..web host ..setting up php !!

Hi, Im doing a research project for school on PHP and i need to experiment with it and do several samples.. Therefore i need a web server that will allow me to program PHP on it.. i need a free one..with FTP acces..!! HELP!!

Or...

How do i set up PHP on my home computer? is it hard or what?? HELP!??!

PHP is a bit of a pain if the ass on a windows system if I remember correctly.

First I would download apache (you'll need that before PHP). Get apache 1.3, as 2.0 seems to be a bit harder to get functioning yet.

Then download PHP.
http://www.php.net/

Try and follow the instructions the best you can and if you have problems getting it working, post back in here and we can try and help you.

php was not too bad to set up here on a windows machine I would recommend trying one of the all inclusives (php triad, or bad blue) That has everythign you need and I hear they are fairly easy
