I recently set up a system to send out emails to a mailing list. Apparently after the first bulk email the server was labelled as a spam server by AOL and now AOL users cannont recieve our emails.

Any idea how this happened? How it can be fixed and anyway to prevent this kind of problem?

make sure you set a delay time between each email you send, if you seem to have lots of members at aol, try sending to them at different times of day, make sure your headers are very well constructed following rfc standards (aol knows most spammers are unprofessional and make bad emails). make sure you have no X-Anti-Abuse headers in the email, and if necessary, spoof the X-Originating-IP header in each email.
contact aol and tell them you aren't spamming, say these people are on a list.
thats a start based on the little info i know about the list and how you sent them.

I have the same problem. Emails are sent to SPAM directory. But if I use another mail server, from WIN98 server its working, so the emails are no longer spam. So I think its a header problem, but since now I didnt succeeded to find a header combination that's working. Has anynody got a real solution?

Call AOL and be read mad and who know maybe they will take the ban off

with aol they have tough spam filters and by default for members, almost any email not sent from another aol member or aol itself will go to the spam folder. see http://postmaster.info.aol.com for more information on sending messages to aol members.
