[Resolved] includes not working for virtual directory

OK...maybe I'm a bit thick today, but I can't figure out why I keep getting this error (IIS4, WinNT4, PHP4.1x):

Warning: Failed opening '../adodb/adodb.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='') in \tweb1\newweb07.03\general\events.php on line 14

I only get the error when I access the directory "newweb07.03" via a virtual directory affectionately called "bubba2":

http://pweb1/bubba2/general/events.php

When I go to the actual url, I get no problems:

http://tweb1/newweb07.03/general/events.php

Can anyone help this poor dope out?

Well, I haven't tested this theory out but I would say there's a good chance that it's barfing on the dot you have in that directory name.

nope, the tdot in the forlder name wasn't it. Just changed the name (and reset the virtual directory path accordingly) and it made no difference. Thanks, though.

make sure you're using full path and forward slashes for the include path.

try '..\adodb\adodb.inc.php' for inclusion

actually, if I use the full path "//tweb1/adodb/adodb.inc.php" it works (thanks seby!).

Just for kicks, I tried it with backslashes, and it worked only with machines on the network.

It just doesn't make sense (to me) that I can't include a file in a directory below the virual directory root using dots.
