Access Hosts:

How do set/define Access Hosts in shell for MySQL?

I need to connect to a database on a different server at a different location.

I usually do this through CPANEL GUI, however I am using PLESK now and cannot find where to configure these variables/IP ADDRESSES.

I did look in the MySQL manual and cannot find anything that relates to ACCESS HOSTS, all I can find is setting user permissions.

Hope I am being clear enough on this, if not please let me know

you mean the db connections?

usually "localhost"

Remote "HOST ACCESS" not "Localhost Access"

What you have to do is GRANT ALL PERMISSIONS in shell> and add user@'%' wildcard for all Remote Hosts

just for more info, this is how i usually do it if i need to connect to a remote server, not sure if that is what you are looking for or not

GRANT ALL ON database.* TO user@example.com IDENTIFIED BY "password"
