checking value from the variable

hi there i would like to check the value if it is in the variable declared

sample:

$var = "i am fine hehe";
$search "hehe";

so everytime the script search for hehe on the $var it should give me value match of print it else not match but i dont know how to pls help its the same as filtering a bad words from the variables from trhe given form field
