Extracting strings

Hey Guys

I have the following:

$price = "69237.34";

I need to extract the "34" into a variable called $cents.
Thats easy:

$cents = substr($price,-2);

Now how would I extract the portion of "69237.34" BEFORE the fullstop? Bearing in mind that this portion will change according to the price. Bassically i need to split the dollars and cents into seperate variables.

try this.

$dollars = strtok($price,".");
$cents=strtok(".");

Should do the trick.
