limiting searches per page

Hello,

Does anyone know of a tutorial or examples on the following:

I need to display only 20 items per page.

If a search returns, lets say, 140 items, I need the code to automatically generate a page with NEXT and PREVIOUS links as needed, going through 7 pages in this particular case.

Can anyone help?

Look up the LIMIT keyword in SQL, e.g. something of the form:
SELECT fields FROM tablename LIMIT start, offset

You could try the docs at mysql.com for this.

As for pages, you should also search the topic, perhaps on this forum.
