Hide controls

Hello,

I am using a search function to search users in a mysql database but i dont want the search button, or the fields visible as i want it to do it when the form loads.

This has been sucessful but i cant make any of my controls invisible.

Could someone help please.

I'm guessing you have a search form on a page that calls itself and you don't want to display the form again when you display the results.

Assuming this is the case

if ($_POST['searchfield'] != "") {  // or some other suitable variable name
   // do results processing
}

else {

   // display search form
}

Basically when the user opens the .php page it has an auto search function that searches one field in the database but it need no imput from the user at all so the button, grid and label dont need to be displayed.

would you mind posting your code here please, ie: the search form and the page that gets the info from the db
