mysql installing

sorry i dont know whether i ask question at the right place...
but anyone knows how to install mysql in the drive other than c?
i m using 2 platforms and i would like to use D: dirve to build my Website.

another question, what's the limitation of using mysql compare wit microsoft sql server?

When you install Mysql, you install a service. The php enegin speak to the SQL server via the service running in the background! So you just install MySQL where ever you want!

SQL servers sounds like they are using the same languarge, but they are ain't! Some SQL servers like the syntax in a special. When MS and MySql team was building the server they have not followed any RFC so now we have tha same problem as we have with C/C++ on deferent compailers.... Hope i had this answer fitted into you quistion!

first thanks for the answer..but while i installed the mysql in d drive, it has successfully been installed, but the service still can not run. i have set anything it request but the traffic light is still red in color.
then i had read through the installation file, it said install mysql is tricky and trouble some if install it other than C: drive..
i had created the my.cnf file in the c drive that it asked me to do (in the case i didnt misunderstand it..) but stil the light is red!!

besides that , is the coding that in php connect to the microsoft sql server similar with coding connect to mysql??
i wish to use sql server but always i can find the reference is php with mysql. is there any good references for php with sql server? or actually the code are the same??😕
