[Resolved] Two bundles on the same computer?

I installed a PHP bundle that didn't work. I can't delete the old bundle; it won't work. So I want to donwload a new bundle...will it interfere with anything that I have existing on my computer?

I downloaded a phpdev bundle from firepages.com.au. It didn't work. That simple....I couldn't access http://localhost. It only worked once. I don't know why it worked that one time...very strange. So, I want to download another bundle from a different location...if I download it to a separate folder, will there be any problems?

Well, what OS is your computer? (Sounds like Windows??). And what webserver are you running? What folder on your HDD is the Document Root? Where is the "bundle" relative to that DR? And where do you intend to put the new one?

Could you get a response in your browser at http://localhost/ before you installed the PHP bundle? Incidentally, is your system able to resolve the address for localhost accurately? How? (Correct config is important). (If windows, it should already know the address.)

Are you sure the webserver was running last time your tried to access http://localhost? Are you running a firewall? Can you port scan your own machine?

Yes I am running Windows. I am running Apache for Windows. It's in C:/Ambuj/phpdev, and the server came with the bundle. It was a MySQL, PHP, Apache, and a whole bunch of other useless crap that only computer geeks...I mean...experts understand. I could get a response at http://localhost/ only once. It only worked one time. I used ipconfig in Windows command prompt to check if everything was okay. The webserver I'm sure was running...I think it was the firewall, but I told it to PERMIT access for anything in the phpdev folder. I'll have to check if everything is okay...I'll check the firewall...anything else that might be wrong, just so that I know...maybe I can fix the problem with the current bundle. If you want to know...it's PHP 4.2.3 (I know I'm behind in versions...It's for testing purposes only.)

I've got it all working perfectly now! The bundle's great...came with Invision Board and stuff like that...awesome stuff! I'm running PHP 4.3.0 . Dalecosp, you were right, 'twas the firewall. I had to rewrite some of the firewall rules 🙂.
