Dropdown box and browser back button

All right I have a simple dropdown box that when selected and you hit submit it takes you to the same page with new info pulled form the db. Now if you make another selection or go to another page and then hit your browser back button you get that "You need to refresh" thing and not the old page.

If you're not confused by my ramblings... is there a way to prevent this easily. I use dropdowns a lot in my site sometimes 2 on a page but I know people will use their browser back button and get that error thinking it was my code at fault.

Maybe I'm missing something. But any help would be great.

just a hint but im sure sure if im correct 🙂

because of the submit u need to refresh your browser so that u will get the value u want.

if its just a dropdown where it will lead you to another section why dont u just make it a hyperlink and assign the variable in the url so that when u go to the page it will automatically display the value u want.

but like what i've said im not sure if i do answer your query correctly. 🙂

I need it to be a dropdown because it will be a growing long list of options that would be to much for a list of links design wise. I'm thinking that maybe there is a JavaScript that I can use that will bypass the form refresh option.
