php code in a text column

I have a longtext column into which I want to insert the current year in the middle of a sentence. I have no idea how to do this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you be more specific? Explain the scenario?

In this particular table, there are two columns; an ID field and a longtext column. The text in the longtext column contains copyright information which is then placed on the bottom of generated pages. I could enter the current year manually, but then I would have to go in and change it each year. I was hoping to add some dynamic php code to automatically insert the current year.

Well, I think most people just put the copywrite at the end of their page. ie: in the footer. Then it applies to everything, not just a single page.

However, to answer your question, check out eval() in the manual. eval allows you to process php code within a regular string.
