Redirecting and loading

I'm fairly new to all this. I understand if I use the HREF tag it will create a link for which the person can click on and link to a different website. How do I make a website automatically load into a certain frame of a window. Currently on my window, I have four frames. I want it to be able to change the frames without having the user press the link button. In other words, how can I redirect a page using target. any help would be appreciated. If there is other methods such as javascript or vbscript, i don't mind at all. Thanks

Javascript is what you need

what you need to look into is a javascript solution. The idea is to capture an event and use a javascript subroutine to load to a different frame. You can either load a new page or just put content in another frame.

// call a javascript function in another frame
window.parent.frames['frame_name'].some_function();

// go to a new page (I think, I didn't test it)
window.parent.frames['frame_name'].location.href='some_other_page.htm';

Well the first option you had, didn't know when to use that and what to use it for. I guess I got confused by the function part. The second one you put

window.parent.frames['frame_name'].location.href='file_name.htm';

worked!!! Thank you for your help!
