[Resolved] Help With New Host -- Mailing

Hey--
Here is the deal. I am made a simple php RSVP application. All it does is you come to the site. Type in your name click either "not going to make it" or "going to make it" . Those 2 are radio buttons. Then tell how many people are coming. Then send. It was all working great one server, but now when I moved it over to the actual site it does everything correctly only it doesn't mail out the response, which did work.

Is there anything in there that you can see that would cause me not to be able to send an email using just the regular basic mail() function.

Oh, the site I was on was using 4.1.2. The new site is using 4.3.3. Is there any differances there that would cause this not to work.

Here is what i have for the email part...

$message = $name . " will be attending.\nThey have entered a number of " . $peeps . " people total.";
$to = "[e-mail]";
$from = "from: [email][e-mail][/email]";
$subject = "RSVP From ".$name;
mail($to,$subject,$message,$from);

If more code is need just let me know. I don't think that anymore would be needed condsidering everything else is just fine. Its just like it isn't doing this one part.

the $from part may be the problem...i do this like below:

//List of Headers
$headers.= "MIME-Version: 1.0\n";          //for html emails
$headers.="Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n";
$headers.="From: $firstname $lastname\r\nReply-To: <$email>\nX-Mailer: PHP Automated Mailer";
    //x-mailer tells mail routers that this

//and email like this:
$result=mail($recipient,$subject,$message,$headers);    //ending semicolon was missing - caused the parse error

Ok, I added that code. Now, it goes through the normal routine, but when it comes to the mail part it just says mail failed. Why would the mail be failing? Any ideas?

your register_globals is Off, if you aren't extracting the variables somehow, you need to access posted variables with $_POST['varnamefromform']

for your information, as of 4.3, register_globals is Off by default
