[Resolved] how do I save text in a table..

I mean so that it displays on my webpage the way I added it..

I use a form to add it to the table..

once you have the variable, let's say $variable, you just echo it out on the page, like

echo nl2br($variable);

BTW I am using blob instead of text.. Is there a big difference?

not really but if you're storing text you should really use text fields blobs are more for binary data.

i would change it back to text, blob stands for binary large objects, like if you wanted to store pictures in the db (which i wouldn't do)

so, change it back to text, that is plenty large enough for what you want

why not?

I usually store anything the user can upload in the database as it's more secure then having a directory that the web server can write to.

that's the key, you don't store it in the document root, you store it outside, but give rights to PHP to access that directory

and it is less server intensive to store the file in the file directories, since that is what they were meant for, MySQL has never really been good at storing binary data in the db

but mainly it is a personal preference for each person...

Some of us host with a 3rd party which doesn't give us the ability to do such things on the server.
