I'm building a chatting room by php 4.2.2, apache 2.0.39 and MySQL
in my common.inc.php, I have started session by:
session_start();
and each page of my site has included common.inc.php by:
include ('common.inc.php');
in the index.php, I have registered a session variable namely:
session_register("username");
and this is test.php's code:
<? include ('common.inc.php'); ?>
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="5; url=onlinehide.php">
<?
echo $HTTP_SESSION_VARS["username"];
?>
then I opened two IE windows in my computer, and logged in with different users in each window. then i entered test.php in both window. Yes, they were showing each user's username, and both were reloading themselves every 5 seconds. But after about 10 minutes, one user's session has auto inefficient!!! it's username no longer was shown in the test.php, and the only thing i did was wait!!!
But when I logged in with only one user, it's session was always efficiency (>12 hours)!
I'm eagerly looking for a solution, THANK YOU!
and, this is session part of my php.ini
