Weird behavior of my scripts...

I am getting some strange behavior from my scripts. If I try to call a function or execute any code after a function call, nothing is outputted to the browser (or the error logs for that matter). I don't know why this is happening. I am completely stumped on this. The product and index scripts function properly, but the cart script does not output anything if my functions are called. Please any help is much appreciated.

Can anyone help me with this? The behavior is that if I call my functions I get no output. Whatsoever. No errors in my error logs, no output to the browser. I really need to solve this problem, if someone could help I would be really grateful. The system is Red Hat Linux and PHP with PostgreSQL.
