mysql not connected

Hi all...

I am new in PHP, my sql ... so I need ur help
After installing phpmyadmin (mysql installed) and and try to test , I type http://localhost/phpmyadmin ,this message appear on the page :

                                  Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.5.3

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

is there something wrong with the installation ? any suggestion pls

There are settings inside config.inc.php for username, password, and server that you need to set before you can use this. It allows the script to login to MySql

Ya...before I posted my problem I have set it at config.inc.,
but the problem remain .......🙁

Well, it doesn't like something being passed to it. Make sure root has access(default), make sure the password is correct. Make sure that root has access through 127.0.0.1....

ya....I fix it , but it is still not connected what I got after typing
http://localhost/phpmyadmin
phpmyadmin interface not appear , what i got is all the file in phpmyadmin folder, cause phpmyadmin is parent folder....any suggestion pls
