what extensions (.php,.php3.php4...) are being parsed by php?

hi.

i wanted to know which file-extensions are parsed by php? i know that .html, .gif, .exe and so on arent, but .php, .php3, .php4 are. so i wanted to know, what other extensions are parsed, too! i experienced, that files xxx.php.bak are parsed, too! is that normal?? what extensions ARE parsed?

depends on your apache setup. You can define the different extensions which are considered PHP there. You could also let it parse .htm and .html files ...

ok, that sounds good, but what extensions are parsed by default on normal internet servers?

well, httpd.conf would probably have:
.php .phtml
as the default, and possibly .php3
