Hi there,
We got a small business running and I am wondering if I can yous Mysql and Php to create the following:

A HTML document with login so users can enter data into a simple mysql database.

the mysql database can use entered data to create a webpage (doesnt have to be dynamically) which consists of a table and some headings. (this should be easy).

People can use the created webpage and select a product and quantity and send this to us using email so someone here can process this information.

I am pretty confidend this is simple and a normal thing to do and is possible.

Another question:
I am also wondering though if we need any kind of special webhosting service and if the database can be stored on our server here at work? or does it have to be stored on the webhosting site. Do we need any kind of special webhosting service? does our domain need to be set up to use something special. would it be feasible to host the website on our server?

yep, u can do that with php should be no problem, just read the docu on language basic and mysql on www.php.net .... and of course u should have basic html knowlegde. if u have any further question how to accomplish what u wanna do, feel free to post here.
and sure, u can run the mysql server on another machine, just pass the hostname when u call mysql_connect()... maybe u can host your entire site on your server (if it's a machine that is powerful enough to fulfil the estimated number of requests) - just install php and mysql, and u should be ready to go...
