simple PDF search and replace

I used to be able to do simple search and replaces inside PDF files to generate custom documents. With the Acrobat 6, I'm having trouble generating non-encoded documents.
Does anyone know how to get ASCII-encoding in Acrobat 6?
Or is there a better method to generate customized, well-formatted documents? SVG?

Uhhhh....how does it have nothing to do with this forum when lots of people use PHP to generate PDF's as I am?

yeah they do, but you are asking for a solution to use a search and replace with acrobat, duh that has nothing to do with PHP

I'm posting in this forum because anyone who needs to generate custom PDFs with PHP should have the knowledge of Acrobat that I'm looking for. Therefore, my question is targeted towards PHP developers. If you'd like to direct me to an Acrobat forum, I'll gladly stop posting. Now bend over and check if there is anything stuck up your ass.

I strongly recommend you lose the attitude! I am simply stating it as it is!

Are you trying to use PHP to do the search and replace, or are you using Acrobat to do the search and replace?

If it is the latter, you can use Google yourself to find answers about Acrobat.

If it is the aforementioned, tell us what PHP code you are using to do the search and replace.

Again, lose the attitude, remember you were in the wrong in the first place by double posting!

If a forum didn't have rules, it would be a real cluster of people doing what they wanted.

I'm not trying to use Acrobat to do a search and replace. I'm trying to use PHP. The PHP code itself is trivial.

But I need the PDF in the proper format to start with. And I was hoping that some other PHP developer had run across this before.

Well that explains your problem a little better, now maybe some other person has run across this problem.

And thanks for the attitude change, we don't need that here, all it does is create hostility and flame posts.

Maybe try putting this in the Misc Tools section, ya know where it shows dreamweaver, etc...
