Trying to get sessions to work need pro help please

Hi im tying to get help with my session thing now and i cant get it to work and i do not know why it don't validate my user...

see here if you see anything ...

here is the login.php i made!

Try this line

if (mysql_num_rows($result) == '1') {

as this instead

if (mysql_num_rows($result) >0) {

and see if it makes a difference. If it does then try the original line w/o the single quotes.

Sorry for not getting it right but i ment the session part...

it works fin with this

$mysqlcon = "select * from reg_info where username = '$username' and password = '$password';";
$result = mysql_query($mysqlcon) or die("Query failed");

and when i wanna get to the UnderConstruction.php it you get
echo "You have not logged in"

LOL, yes, I see. I'm a bit thick at times.
The problem is likely this:

if (!isset($_SESSION["IsLoggedIn"])) { 

isset() will get a bit crazy. Try setting $_SESSION['IsLoggedIn']=1 in the first script, and then check it thus:

Still i have the same problem?

When i use the exmapel 1 code

See what's in session variable....

Also try with

session_register(IsLoggedIn);

when you want to register a session variable like this one: $_SESSION["IsLoggedIn"]="0";

and check for its content with simple $IsLoggedIn

im not sow good att session and sow on sow im trying to learn it becuse i have read all about sessions and cookis and i still dosent understand why it dosent work

the fun prt is that it creats a session file but that dosent work...

can it be that i don't use a super globe definition on ['IsLoggedIn'] in the page??

Hi agine
now it it calls for the session cooki but i have a output problem now...

i have read on php.net and look on simular problems on phpbuilder and it ponints to a dubble session thingi or a output some where but there ar only one out put before the else...

and i i get this error syntax!

now the session part seems to work a bit, i only get this at de first time whene i loggin and then after whene i done it again there error is gone 😕 why i do not know..

But i get this at de first loggin

and the vaildate code or the sessions input file seams to no validate me when i go to UnderConstruction.php file it just jumps to else syntax and gives this text You have not logged in.

my session file store this information when a session is created on the server but nothing on the client! is that good or bad...

Study something about session on www.phpbuilder.com ,try searching session_start()......
If you know something about global variable you can use session_register(variablename) to store the variable in session otherwise you have to use $_SESSION['variablename']
Things are a bit difficult if you don't know much about this thing.
You have to learn ...i can't explain you all things.

hi budd i fixt it... and just wanna add what was the problem

it was in the php.ini

session.auto_start = was 0 insted of 1

but thanks for the help... and by the way i got 2 boks on php to day becuse i didint fix the session thing but thas good!
