Email delivery returns

Hey Folks,

Ok here is the question,

I have a bog standard email script which sends out an email throught the website (obviously using PHP).

eg mail($Reciptent,$Subject,$msg,"From:<$email2>",$Config);

What i am wondering is whether you can add a delivery receipt so I know whether it has in fact been sent to and read by the receipiant. Much like the MS Outlook "read receipt".

Any ideas, or is this just compleatly impossible. Or is it I is just thick!!!!!

Ive remembered many how have tried and failed.. Its not impossible but its not as possible as one would think

The basic theory is

check and email account
see if your email has been read either yes/no
and your done.

However its much more complicated than that

You must open a connection to there host
Login to there account
Find your Email
Then get a response
Then you can either say yes its been read or no its not..

To be all honest id say do not attempt. You could probably search the board for similar threads but im pretty sure most went up empty in the end.

I think I will I'll give up on the idea. It seems a little too complicated for my poor head to deal with. I was hoping it would be somthing simple like a header file.
