date driven php/mysql query output

Newbie asks for assist.

Looking for a php script that will automatically generate query output of a mysql recordset based on the following field parameters;

if active=y and (systemdate-enterdate)/7=integer

I interpret this as all active records where (n) number of weeks have passed since the record enter date. This will allow for automation of our follow-up system, as the record remains within this queried recordset until active=n.

As a php infant, my "php" beginner friend and I are trying to develop an application. It's beyond his extertise and I'm falling back on basic programming.

Not sure on the logic of (systemdate-enterdate)/7=integer) but it seems all you need to do is refine your query to get the correct data. A little more info needed, sorry 🙂

This should work if I interpreted your post correctly:

$inputWeeks = number of weeks (you plug this value in here)

// right now - (3600 min multiplied by 24 hrs multiplied by 7 days
// multiplied by your #)
$testDate = time() - 3600247*$inputWeeks ;

$result = mysql_query ("select * from table where active = 'y' and recorddate <= $testDate");
