Hi. I have a couple Vbulletin message boards installed on my server. When I installed them I set the Administrator username/password and gave it to the client then forgot it.

Well one of the clients has lost his username and password and wants me to find it. I have access to the Vbulletin database and I've looked thru every table and I can't find any usernames or passwords. Not only for the Administrator but for anyone.

Anyone know where I could find this Username/Password?

Surely we have some developers that use VBulletin on this board.

As I said, I have looked in every table in the DB and there's like 25 or more and I can't find any passwords.

Are the passwords stored somewhere else??

an alternative is to examine the login script, determine the logic, and from there determine where the username/password is matched to.

a solution that might work would be to hack the login script, and have a static username/password for them to log in with (not check the db for the info)... and once theyre inside the Admin Panel, have them change the Admin password for that account, and then change the login code back.

Which basically means that you'll need to give them a new password, and replace (by hand) the MD5ed password in the database with the MD5 of the new password.

Yeah, can't decrypt. But real easy to make the new one. Look at the manual if you need help with md5()
