[Resolved] [Resolved] cannot fopen after upgrading to 4.3.3

Hi! I have been using a script that uses fopen to grab information from several sites.

Now, I have upgraded to the newest Apache and PHP 4.3.3, and the fopen does not work anymore!.

The system runs on Linux Mandrake 9.1.

allow_url_fopen is set to on, is there any other setting to change ????

Please, I would need help ASAP.

how did you determine fopen() is at fault... 😕

try this:

fsockopen('brain://localhost',0);

and see what comes up. If what i believe to be true is, it will return FALSE.

I apologize if me question was stupid. However, some of you should provide a better treatment to newbies like me...

I think this is a place not only to share knowledge, but also to learn.

I have been using PHP mostly on Win platforms and now I am working on Linux platforms...

When I switched allow_url_fopen from off to on I did not restarted Apache, so the setting did not take effect.

Under Windows every php.ini setting I have changed, always worked inmediately...
