Need assistance in generating stats

Hi,

I have just started learning PHP and the project i'm doing is to generate statistics for various helpdesk operators. Statistics would be the amount of calls each operators has taken and the total of all calls and the percentage of resolving each call.

All the information are uploaded in a mssql server and I am able to connect to it. I have been able to generate the list of operators but need help with the rest. If anyone could assist by providing the scripts or how to start it or by directing me even to any information that could help me get started (ie books, other tutorials). I'm not asking anyone to do the job for me, just to help me get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking everyone in advance.

first, read the doc on mssql (http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.mssql.php) ... then, u should simply get the imformation (i do not really know the structure of your db so i cannot give u precise information) and sum em up, calculate the calls per hour (simple maths, u should be able to do it 😉 something like $callsPerHour = $callsPerDay / 24). i would suggest to run the statistic script once a day (e.g. as some cron job or by callin it manually) because else it will be hard to calculate all the values u wanna know (calls per hour) unless u use information like the hours the operator is workin at your place etc.
