MySQL: Score, LIKE

Hi there, I have a table of keywords sort of like:

Word ID

---

alton Towers 4
alton mouse 6
Walton Pier 9

But with a lot more entries.

I then need to search this table ordered by how relavent the keyword is. I can do this via Full Text Searching like

SELECT id,title, MATCH (title) AGAINST ('alton') AS score FROM search WHERE MATCH (title) AGAINST('alton');

This then returns the results "alton towers" and "alton mouse" but not "Walton Pier".I know there is a boolean mode in MySQL 4 but my host is running MySQL 3.xx

Any ideas?

Im not sure if this will work but you could try using the wildcards in the AGAINST() like AGAINST('%alton%') but I cant find any docs that verify YAY or NAY on that working...

Unfortunetly not 🙁, it just returns the same results as with out them
