Number of Tables in a MySQL database

Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before...
Is there a limit to the number of tables in a MySQL database?

If one table has say 900 rows with not more than 30 columns, would I be able
to accommodate 500+ tables in one MySQL database? (providing there's enough
disk space obviously)

I've never heard of or encountered a limit. The manual is the place to look though

well, it depends on your operating system. MySQL can hold up to 8,000,000 TeraBytes of data theoretically. if you're on linux, then ya i'd say you can accomodate that.
