relative path on windows

i think this problem is answered about 1000 times before...

a lot of people know about the problem to use links which are releated to the site root. The work with includes is much easier on a windows machine if a relative path is possible.

Is there some one who can give me some tips how i can handle this?

First off, this should NOT be in install.

O you want me to explain? look into $SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] and $SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].

Hallo,
i posted this here because i hope there is a parameter in the configuration php or Apache to handle this. Of course i can use server variables but in case of images its not very usefull.

but the server_vars can handle the problem with my includes...
