How to make Sunrise and sunset -functions?

How can I make sunrise and sunset -functions?

I haven't code any astronomical program so I don't undestand anything about those things.

I know that those functions are included with PHP version 5.0. I'm impatient, can't wait so long. :rolleyes:

Well....you could start by explaining. Is this a time function? Based on date? What exactly do these functions do? You trying to make the sun rise and set with PHP? Might need a bigger server....

Of couse, you could just download the PHP5 source and start digging

I think you can do it simply using javascript by detecting time from user's computer. Based on the time, you will display whether a sun rise or a sun set image.
Sorry, if it isnt that simple. 🙂

scoppc, it is not that simple. User has maybe turned JavaScript off so that wouldn't be the right way.

LordShryku, functions are based to day and location as descibed on PHP5 beta 1:

sunrise-function returns time of sunrise for a given day & location

sunset-function returns time of sunset for a given day & location
