[Resolved] Enabling the warning for undefined variable

In my php.ini I have

error_reporting  =  E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

Yet, when I do in my code

if($hjdfghkdgfj == 1)
    echo "duh";

I get no warning/error concerning the undefined variable 🙁, why's that?

Why isn't it happening automatically though? Should I just add the line in the top "include"?

Well, if you read the message that says that $hjdfghkdgfj is an undefined variable, you'll see that it's described as a Notice:.

And with E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE you're explicitly turning Notices off.

Change that to E_ALL in php.ini (in fact, read php.ini; it doubles as documentation).
