Here's my website: http://www.motorcityrock.com.
Basically, it's a music-related site that contains a library of artists, venues, and associated photos and memorabilia. The site is fairly new, but I already have nearly 1000 HTML Pages and the number is growing every day. Since everything on the site is cross-linked to other relevent pages, it's becoming a pain to keep it updated.
I'd like to redesign the site with a database backbone and it was suggested that I look into PHP.
If you look at this link: http://www.motorcityrock.com/bands/carbide/carbide.html you'll see what a basic artist listing looks like. My database would start with Band Members. Every name from every band would go in a database. From this database I would group band members into Bands. Photos would be related to the approriate Bands. You'll also see performance listings (dates). These would be related to appropriate Venues.
See where I'm going here?
My question is: Is PHP the best way to do this? I've already got a PHP-driven site search and message forum, so I've got a_little_bit of any idea how it works.
Thanks!
