hexidecimal math and place holders

I've looked through the php manual and the forums for help with hex math but haven't found anything, if anyone knows where to look I'd appreciate it!

Specifically I'm trying to maintain place holders when subtracting or adding hex numbers, i.e. FF00CC - FF0000 = 0000CC

Moving back and forth from decimal with dechex and hexdec gets a little rediculous! 😉

sounds like your playing with color code. I would split them into arrays of three using modulous arithmetic.

Sounds good and yes, it's color code, so I'm already dealing with 3 pairs.
