Hi All
On one of my websites I have an application which can be downloaded. It's big, the next release will be just under 5MB.
If 2 people try to download it the file corrupts and won't work after going through the pain of the download. Most of my users are on dialup!
Currently I have 3 copies on my site. 2 for downloading and 1 to allow me to refresh quickly when I'm notified of a corruption. I also use this for emailing to people when requested (manually). I update a "toggle" so that I know which of the 2 copies to serve up next.
This doesn't seem too smart to me. Some sites have thousands of copies of their software downloaded daily. Does anyone know how they do it?
