can't fopen

I am having a problem with fopen that I hope someone can help with

I have a file on one site that I control that I want to include on another site that is hosted on a different server.

The host of the second site does not allow me to directly include the file, which would of course have been the easy way. Instead I was trying to do this with fopen (it's a pretty small file that I want to include).

When I try this, I get warning fopen (url); success

Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can get the contents on this file displayed in the page?

This probably doesn't help you much, but I'd say the issue is that since the file isn't on your Web server, when you try to open it, it is using the generic Web user which probably doesn't have rights to write to the file on the other server. I have run into this issue when I've tried to write to files via HTTP. After that didn't work, I would then switch to opening the file directly off the server, which worked since it was on my server.
