i wish you understand what i mean
i have case :
i have a website and i wanna know IP address someone who visited my website. And then i wanna check that IP address is it match with my ip_address_database. if match, i wanna that IP address generate/switch image.
flowchart :

user ---> visited my website ---> get IP address ---> checking database ---> if match--> generate an image

so pretty much all you nmeed is how to get the ip address?
that would be

$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']

i would suggest you work with cookies though, since dynamic ip's will screw up that system.
