str_replace problem

Hi, I'm trying to simply strip any commas out of a field submitted through a form using str_replace as such:

$Price=str_replace(",","",$_POST['Price']);

When I echo the value of $Price, it prints with the comma in it. Any ideas why this is happening. I also tried using ereg_replace and the same thing. I'm using php 4.2.3

Can you show your actual code where you are doing the str_replace() and the echo?

The problem was that I was using number_format() after I removed the commas (in order to remove any decimal places), and this was adding the commas back in. I rearranged it to strip the comma after calling number format.
