str_replace or maybe preg_replace

Hey. I am having a brain malfunction. I know i have done this before but I am at a loss.

I have a string that is something like...

really_foo_bar

and I need to change it to...

really.foo_bar

So all i need to do is change the first "_" to a "."

Anyone?

May be an easier way to do this. but you could explode() them, replace the first one, and put them back together. str_replace will replace every instance.

$temp = explode("_", $string);
$temp = $temp[0] . '.' . implode('_', array_shift($temp));

I think that should do it 🙂
