Forum and Site Login the same, or no?

Is the 'user' database for the forum the same one used for the site itself?

If I try and post to one of the articles on the site proper, I'm prompted for uname/pw. If I enter the one I use for the forum, I'm told I don't exist. However, if I try and register (using the same username...why be someone else?) I'm told that a user by that name already does exist!!!

Seems a lil' strange...

LMAO. How'd you know!?! I haven't even read that one! Do I need to change my slogan to "You read my email."?

Anyway, I had to register to the site as well as the board, so I'm thinking that they are stored in different tables, if not databases. I think I was just lucky enough to have such an obscure name, no one would ever take it...

Umm.. you are correct, I believe, but I thought jstarkey was going to correct that, I'll check to see if he has/was doing that...
