I know enough about PHP and MySQL to run a web site with it, but I've always had both programs hosted for me. That's fine except when the hosting provider or my internet connection goes down, which of course, like all things, happens once in a while. So I got to wondering yesterday, is it possible to install both of these programs on my own computer so I can work on my web pages whether I'm connected to the internet or not? Like, work on it and then upload the database to my hosting provider from time to time? Is that a possibility? I imagine things would load a lot more quickly were I not burndened with an internet connection, too.
